Why Rahul Dravid was retained as head coach by BCCI

After a week of hectic parleys and suspense, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) extended Rahul Dravid's contract as Team India's head coach. While the tenure of the contract hasn't been specified by BCCI, TOI understands that both parties have agreed to primarily focus on the T20 World Cup to be held in the US and West Indies in June 2024. In Dravid's first two-year term, the Indian team made the T20 World Cup semifinals in 2022 and the final of World Test Championship in June this year before suffering heartbreak in the ODI World Cup final this month.
